This month Canyon View students will be participating in SAGE testing. SAGE testing is a system of assessments designed to support and measure student success and growth. SAGE assessments are standards-based, adaptive and Utah-specific. Every student will be assessed on the full breadth and depth of the Utah Core Standards. Each student will be assessed at his or her level of achievement, providing precise estimates of what each student knows and can do. SAGE will measure a student's growth from fall to spring and from spring to spring as students move through successive grades. With that knowledge in mind please support our efforts at home by making sure that your child gets a good night's rest this month and recieves breakfast prior to coming to school. An important date to remember this month is Monday Feb. 16, 2015 there will be no school for students due to the President's Day holiday. . . An An imporat

We hope the month of December finds you well. Over the past few years our nation has seen sad and frightening violence in our public schools. Keeping your children safe while at school is our top priority. We are sending out this letter to inform you that we will be having a lock-out and lock down drill within the next twelve days. The safety protocol that our school district has adopted if an emergency arises is called SRP. You will be able to find this information on our website located under the students tab (response protocol) and on this link: http://iloveuguys.org/srp/Student%20and%20Parent%20Handout.pdf. We ask that you take a few minutes to go over SRP with your child at home so that they can become more familiar with the process as well as you the parent. We are holding these drills so that our staff and students are thoroughly trained to respond to a crisis in a timely and safe manner.
We also want to take this opportunity to remind you of a few other safety measures that we ask that you follow when at our school:
When dropping off late or picking up students you will need to go through the front office and check in. The front office is located at the south end of the school.
All exterior school doors will be locked during the school day except for the south main entrance doors.
All visitors will be required to have an ID badge or a visitor badge that they will receive when they check in at the front office.
Thank you for your support in following this protocol and for allowing us the opportunity to serve your children.
