As this school year winds down to a close, I want to take the time to thank our students, teachers, staff and parents. Thank you to our students who showed up each day working toward their goals. Our students inspire us through their hard work, determination and perseverance! Thank you to our teachers who endlessly served our students. You are all a wonder to watch in action and I found it rewarding to spend each day seeing you meaningfully engaged in working with students to achieve their best self. To our support staff, counselors, therapists, kitchen workers, custodial staff, thank you........this school would not run without you! Lastly to our parents, thank you for allowing us the privilege to work with your child. It has been said that it takes a village to raise a child and Canyon View is one awesome village. With that we want to wish everyone a happy summer break! The last day of the 2014-15 school year will be May 22nd; students will be let out at 12:30pm. Enjoy summer and we look forward to seeing everyone in August.
On April 16th, Canyon View School will be participating in the Great Utah Shake Out. The procedures for earthquake drills are "Drop, cover, hold." Please review this wording and what it means with your student at home. We will be reviewing and practicing in anticipation of the Great Utah Shake Out on the 16th. Also there is a new survey up on each student's portal to help Weber School District and each school improve their performance. As part of our evaluation tool, we are asking you to provide feedback on your student's teachers. In order to participate in the survey, we will need you to access your student’s portal online after which you will see the survey link. After selecting the survey link you will be able to choose the teachers and begin the survey. You may take a survey for each of your children's teachers. The surveys will remain open until April 24, 2015. Again we appreciate your time. If you have questions, please contact the school.
Spring is here! The trees are starting to bud and everywhere I look I can see evidence of spring. Within the school I can see the progress that our students have made and continue to make since last fall. It is a joy to serve students and work with such amazing teachers and staff. We have officially begun the 4th quarter of school and are optimistic it will be filled with lots of success. We want to remind all students and parents that there will be no school on the week of March 30th- April 3rd due to Spring Break.
