Acadience Reading & Math Assessments

Every student in grades K-6 (Reading) and in grades K-3 (Math) are assessed three times a year using the Acadience Reading and Math benchmark assessments which are an evidence-based, reliable, and validated universal screener. In addition, schools may choose to administer math benchmarks in grades 4-6 as well.

These benchmark assessments, in addition to other assessments, provide an indication of which students may be at risk for academic failure in early reading and/or math skills. The benchmark assessments are administered at the beginning, middle and end of each school year.

The data from the Acadience assessments are analyzed by the teacher  to determine the strengths and areas of need a student is demonstrating in early literacy and math skills. The instruction provided will be targeted to the needs of the students. Goals are set for students and trajectories for growth are monitored. Students who score well-below benchmark as determined by Acadience assessements will be monitored every 2 weeks. Students who are below benchmark as determined by Acadience assessments will be monitored every 3 weeks, and students who are at Benchmark or Above Benchmark as determined by Acadience assessments will be monitored every 4 weeks.
